350 runners turned out at the crack of dawn to compete in the inaugural Dili Half Marathon on Sunday 21 March, a gruelling 21 km race starting and finishing at the Palacio Presidente. The top athletes crossed the finish line with competitive times, and will train as a national team in the lead up to the international Marathon in June.
Timor-Leste President, Jose Ramos-Horta, invites athletes to participate in the Dili ‘City of Peace’ Marathon – the first marathon in Asia’s newest nation, while Timor’s top running talent hit the training track in preparation for the landmark event.
