Ba futuru

Ba futuru is Timor Leste’s pre- eminent peace building organisation which works to strengthen the lives of women, children, youth and vulnerable people. Since 2004, Ba futuru has provided educational training programs to more than 20,000 children, youth, teachers and community leaders throughout the country. Ba Futuru also runs Dili’s peace centre in partnership with the local community, where a variety of educational courses and activities are offered to more than 100 children and youth. HIAM-Health (Hamutuk ita ajuda malu) English translation (Together we help each other) Only united can we achieve. The vision of HIAM-Health is to empower Timorese people, through education to work together to reduce the high infant and maternal mortality in this country. To achieve a reduction in the people who are suffering from the effects of poor nutrition HIAM has constructed a facility (Malnutrition Rehabilitation & Education Centre) which is addressing these problems. Moris Rasik

Moris Rasik (MR) offers financial support through microfinance to Timorese women and individuals to run a small business and provide Financial Literacy training for women’s groups in rural areas. In addition, MR also trains its staff to improve their understanding of accounting and reporting systems. The extension of credit through microfinance has proven to be an effective approach in helping individuals, usually women, to establish or expand a small, self sustaining business by making small loans, often in amounts of $200 or less. Timor Aid

Tulun Rai Timor (Timor Aid), was founded in 1998 by Timorese and long-term East Timor supporters who worked closely with Nobel Peace Laureate Dr. José Ramos-Horta. Timor Aid’s vision is of a peaceful, just East Timor with the capacity to bring prosperity to people so they can live in dignity and harmony with each other, the environment and the region. To contribute to this vision, Timor Aid’s mission is to model organizational excellence in undertaking programs to achieve sustainable economic, social, and cultural development outcomes in four main areas: cultural preservation, civic education, capacity building and community enabling. At present Timor Aid has a staff of about 60 people with 3 district offices and projects in all 13 districts of the country. Bairo Pite Clinic

Bairo Pite Clinic provides free health care services toan average of 300 patikm)ents per day and is one of the most highly visited health clinics in the country. Founded in 1999 to serve the immediate needs of the population affected by the violence of the Indonesian withdrawal, BPC has grown to provide a range of regular services to those in need including maternity and infant care, vaccinations, tuberculosis (TB), malaria and dengue fever treatment, HIV diagnosis and treatment, in-patient and dental services, health outreach, and training for local health care workers.
