Timor-Leste has a wide range of attractions to offer, characterized by both uniqueness and diversity. From the natural landscapes to the friendly people and historical heritage, our country presents itself as an unexplored and untouched land. The more urban feeling of the capital contrasts with the remote and unspoiled beaches located to the east and south.

Timor-Leste offers white sand beaches with crystal-clear waters framed by lush vegetation and coral reefs. World-class diving and fishing spots are located all along the north coast of the country, many a short drive from the capital. Díli and Com offer a number of tourist resorts & activities, while the rest of the country’s coast displays a range of beautiful and untouched beaches waiting to be discovered.

Despite the fact that the country spreads across less than 19,000 km2 that has no impact on the variety of landscape one can find. The country encompasses a wide range of landscapes: from the mountain areas of Maubisse, Ermera and Ainaro to the savannah plains of Lautém, from the rice and coffee plantations in Bobonaro and Aileu to the rain florest of Lore, the choices are plenty.
Perhaps our biggest asset is our people: a friendly and welcoming people with many traditions and a significant cultural heritage. Being predominantly catholic, but keeping their animist traditions, the Timorese have a number of rituals and traditions that add up to the singularity of our country and complement its tourism offer, making travelling a true experience.
